01:06 am - Free as a bird Anyone with a facebook account knows that I am single once again. At this moment I'm comtemplating my next move...or what to do with my life. Go back to school, move to New York, Boston, LA? I'd like to avoid LA because it lacks public transportation, but I'm open to it. Wish me luck. 08:20 pm Been a while since I've written anything. I'm still looking for that job...I applied for operations assistant at the public station in Manchester, which I should get, but they are taking forever to contact anyone. Lately I have been substitute teaching at Thorton's Ferry. It's getting me conditioned and used to working full time.
I am directing a music video that we are shooting in Boston this Sunday. If you live near Boston and want to be in it, you are invited. Extras are to show up at 11am, in an attempt to get those who want to watch the Patriots out in time for the game. My apologies to the churchgoing folk. The location is the Burren, 247 Elm Street, Davis Square Somerville MA 02144.
Looking forward to seeing Witchcraft and Davana tomarrow night. Grails were awesome on Sunday. Current Music: Learn French CD

02:39 pm - The Miskatonic Acid Test - Official Trailer (I'm in this)
 |
| | | "The Miskatonic Acid Test - Official Trailer (I'm in this)" on Google Video | |
It's HP Lovecraft a-go-go in "The Miskatonic Acid Test", the first feature from American Entropy Productions. It's 1969, and cosmic horror infects a psychedelic rock "happening" in witch-haunted Arkham, Mass. It's a zonked out brew of poetry, philosophy, cosmic horror, and 60's-style acid rock; probably the first horror movie that's more heavily influenced by the Monkees' "Head" than by George Romero... This is the official trailer. |

05:09 pm - 3 Inches of Blood! So I went to a show at Mark's Showplace in Bedford featuring Bad Wizard, Early Man and 3 Inches of Blood (in that order). I don't know exactly what I was expecting, but I haven't had so much fun at a show since The Young Idea animal rights benefit in Nashua. It was a blast, and well worth the $20 ticket and 5 mediocre local metalcore bands (though a few showed some promising musicianship) that played before the touring acts.
Bad Wizard was a hairy '70s style straight up rock band. The singer was trashed when he came on stage, his pants were riding low showing off pubes. A half empty beer bottle found its way into the front of his pants for a while before being twirled like a drumstick and emptied consequently. They also had a female guitarist with some great chops. The vocals we killer and music tres dancable, which I indulged but sadly was alone or one of few.
Ealry man hit the stage next, a trio weidling flying V's, Jacksons and a clear acrylic drums set. They were super awesome live...great guitar work and great drumming. Pure and raw '80s thrash metal and a joy to watch. They keep it simple, no effects other than distortion and EQ for solos. I loved their drummer because of what he could do without a double bass pedal.
After Early Man was the final and most anticipated act - 3 Inches of Blood. I had heard them a few times but seeing them live was simply incredible. This was by far the most metal I've ever experienced in 45 min-1 hour or however long they played. From the time they hit the stage they were engulfed in a shroud of fog that never let up. Joe and Derek and I were right in front of stage, and the people right in back of us went absolutely nuts, which inspired me (I felt that I needed to rock as hard as they were to justify my place). Hands an fists were constantly in the air, heads banged furiously, people sang along (everyone seemed to know all the words except me of course). The bands music was ferociously fast and full of fantastic riffs. They have two singers, a tall slender guy who screams and a guy with a beard who sings super high, and he was spot on! The chemistry between the band and the crowd was magical, and everyone was on cloud nine when 3 inches of blood finished their encore. My words pale in comparison to the experience so I will stop babbling. I just feel bad I didn't tell more people, I can think of at least 5 folks who would have loved it. Current Music: Goblin

08:23 pm News:
My hair has been cut short, harvested if you will, for locks of love. kristen likes it. my beard looks huge now.
I'm in a new band now called kuleshov effect. If you don't know what this is, enrich yourself and google it. I'm real excited about this band, right now it's me on drums and my friend Brian on guitar and a possible singer. I'll make a soundclick for practive recording soon so you all can hear it.
The space train/odv cd will be finished and packaged this week, as I finally have some time. Let me know if you'll be in town this week. Also I talked to Ryan about playing open mic at Keene State and he was down so that will probably happen.

02:13 pm I found a dollar on the grass yesterday by the pond. It's amazing how happy finding things can make me. With the exception of film production 3/4, which has been a disaster from the begining, my classes are going well. I saw Emmett Till, The Untold Story the other day. If you're not familiar with this bit of history check out below link, it was a big factor in getting the Civil Rights Movement going. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/till/

11:13 pm Well, I can't remember when my last post was, and it was probably something stupid. This way you'll know I' still alive.
I put up a simple web page for myself on the tiny menagerie site(www.tinymenagerie.com), which I'm having some problems managing, so the link actually goes to my brother mike's sever. Right now it's only got music. As for the other guys (steve, tad, shawn, bob, dan), how aout some stuff? Let me know if there's anything in existence I can link to in the meantime. Peace y'all.

12:17 am "The Viridian Pearl" 1998-2005

(dead center, behind the red jeep)
It was a good car, oh how I loved it in the short time we had together. Drove like a dream, so comfortable, that shiney deep forest green. It will be sorely missed. The good thing is that we had comprehensive insurance, which is paying us $7,200. And I still have a car, since my dad bought a newer accord to replace the 1992 that Mike drove, which is now in my possesion. It's been an interesting few weeks. We came out on top, but I'd still rather the car not gotten ruined. Current Music: drunk horse

03:45 pm Wow, it's super nice outside, though hot. I need to go back out, and not be inside in front of a screen. Just checking the email, which led to listening to music on myspace. Discover new music is important though.
Hey, how about anyone who wants to talk about existing, god, ethics or any of that reply to this. Get a little discussion going. Maybe I'll think of some more specific ideas and post about them. Current Music: Sir Q, and Opteth in the room over

12:43 am - old saggin' balls So I will be in Bosten this Thursday seeing Sigur Ros in concert with my lovely, and I am curious as to who I will see (that are people I know). Dave just saw them and told me the experience was sublime.
Also, I've just started listening to a band called Witchcraft that I found at the radio station and they are totally fucking awesome. 60s/70s doom with a healthy amount of funk and swagger, some folk and jazz elements, and killer songwriting chops. Their new record has relatively clean guitar tones which is cool because you can really hear what they play and its all about the riffs. I'm shitting my pants over this and so is Ryan Berry. There's a free mp3 from their first record, which is one of those rediculous basement recordings that really sounds like an authentic late 60s recording), at their website, www.witchcrafthome.com
Any one with the first name Bob or Tony needs to check this out, but it comes highly recommended to all. Current Mood: smith Current Music: Witchcraft - Sorrow Evoker

12:05 pm - I meant to post this so long ago. When my dad came to visit me in Australia, his suitcase got lost for a little while, so he didn't have any clothes. This was the only shirt that fit him. Of course, I insisted on taking a picture!

Also, I got drunk with Joe last night. It was funny.
